Regard the Card
Our aim is to encourage the general public to ask to see the Gas Safe I.D. card, encourage Engineers to show their Gas Safe I.D. card before being asked, and reminding everyone to check the Gas Safe I.D. card before any work on Gas appliances & Gas pipe-work takes place.
In a nutshell, we are working towards the general public knowing that asking to see the Gas Safe I.D. card a normal and common request. #RegardtheCard
When it comes to improving gas safety, manufacturer training courses are paramount. It is not enough just to become accredited and start doing gas work; engineers should make sure they know everything about the products they are working with. Some may think they don’t have time to take a day out of work to attend a training course, but it is a small price to pay to keep customers safe.
Although we all acknowledge servicing must be completed to meet manufacturers recommendations, it is important that customers gain some understanding of what they should expect from a service and how to recognise the overall condition and safety of their boiler. The Gas Safety SuperHeroes encourage regular servicing as it reduces the likelihood of breakdown and ultimately extends the life of the boiler.
Annual servicing will also help improve energy efficiency and ultimately reduce the likelihood of damage, danger and death caused by Carbon Monoxide poisoning.
